The Metropolitan Nature Park is the only national park that is located within the metropolitan capital, you have to take a short drive of around ten to fifteen minutes from Panama City to get there. It has a pacific dry forest that covers around 573 acres of land, the park is the dwelling place of various species of birds, butterflies, mammals, and reptiles.
It has three main well maintained trails that can be accessed easily, these trails include numerous look out points to provide visitors with different panoramic views of the city, Miraflores Locks, Panama Canal, and Balboa port. It's grounds include a library, a small museum, and a gift shop, Metropolitan Nature Park opens at 6AM and closes at 5PM daily, if you want to visit the library, it is open from 10:30 AM to 4 PM Monday to Friday, and from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturdays.
