The Bridge of the Americas connects the divided land that was separated during the Panama Canal construction, in 1914 with the construction of the Panama Canal, it divided the country of Panama and also the Northern and Southern parts of America, leaving the small bridge at Gatun Locks. Later, a small bridge was built at Miraflores Locks in 1942, both the bridges were small, so the traffic increased, therefore, in 1959.

The construction of the Bridge of the Americas was undertaken by the United States which was completed in 1962, the cost of building the bridge was around $20 million dollars. The bridge offers an impressive sight and you can also view it from Balboa Yacht Club, throughout the day and even throughout the night many vessels pass under it, being an important part of Panama, the bridge is often visited by tourists who wish to enjoy the great views of the city.
